Environmental control and safe living are absolute priorities of JSC “Metafrax” activity.
The Company aims to:

• bring up the ecological nationality and responsibility of the managers and employees;
• improve the processes with the purpose of its influence reduction on environment ;
• monitor the environment and observe the operating processes.

In 2007 annual costs of the Company fixed production assets purposed for nature protection constitutes more than 253 million rubles, the current costs for environmental control is 35,6 million rubles.

In 2007 MPC of hazardous substances in the workrooms area was 7,5 %, that is 1,2% lower of 2008. Gas content of air at Pentaerythritol with Formaldehyde (Hexamine) plant has been reduced by 9,1%, at Methanol plant  by 10%.

In 2007 the Company reduced the atmospheric emissions by 443 t/y as compared with the index of 2008, and it constituted hardly above 50% of MPN. NOx emission at Methanol plant has been reduced more 400 t/y. 

Unfortunately, chemical plant operation and its development negatively influence to the environment. Therefore, our goal is to find that optimal level allowed hurting minimum to the nature.

Each new plant of JSC “Metafrax” is thoroughly checked and inspected by experts from the point of view of influence to the environment.

Control for the accepted ecological norms is carried out by specialized and certified laboratories of the enterprises.

JSC “Metafrax” is acting as an “aid-men” for the Kosva River by purifying all the household and industrial sewage of Gubakha town at its disposal biological units, more than 8 mln.m3/y.  

Every year we achieve the new levels of endless “industrial and safety ladder”. Much has been already done:

Having got approximately 10 000 tons of wastes every year we use as a raw materials 2,2 tons (above 20%) of it, other 7,8 tons we pass on to the other enterprises for waste usage, neutralization and  burial.

Methanol waste product, fusel oil, secondary methanol are used as a fuel element.

A technology of technical mother liquid processing in the production of Pentaerythritol has facilitated separation of sodium formiate and reprocessing the wastes into commercial product.

The containers intended for Technical Pentaerythritol Filtrate (FTP) at Pentaerythritol Plant facilitated marketing of additional amount of production wastes.
The own poliamide wastes of the Company and received from the other companies are recycled into granules, and utilized subsequently to manufacture the products.

Sediments of sewage disposal units are used for recultivation of waste dumps located within the town.

In 2007 industrial wastes workshop modified the mechanical filtration unit, installed a new mechanical grid, changed the aeration system, purchased and put into operation liquid chromatography, certified the laboratory. These activities facilitated reduction of enterprises influence on Kosva river basin.  Number of suspended substances in the cleaned runoff reduced by 22 t/y, ammonia ions -35 t/y, biological oxygen demand (BPK) – 25 t/y.

When nature protection equipment works effectively then there isn’t any claim, and consequently conflicts with the nature protection authorities. Since 1984 JSC “Metafrax” hasn’t got a single claim from the nature protection authority.
